One very important aspect that is often overlooked in the process of buying a home is the sewer line.

Many people think that the sewer line belongs to the city. After all, you get a sewer bill from the city so it is their responsibility, Right?  WRONG.

Home owners are responsible for the sewer line from the city sewer main to their house. This pipe is deeply buried underground and very costly to repair. The repair cost can run from $2,000 to $20,000. The most costly repair is where the home's sewer pipe connects to the city main. This repair involves cutting into the street to access the repair. After the repair is made the street has to be repaired as well. All this is at the owners expense. The average cost for this type of repair can easily be $10,000 to $12,000.

Can you afford not to have your sewer pipes video inspected?

The wise home buyer will have the sewer pipe video inspection and if there are problems the seller is the one that usually pays for the repairs. Once the problem is discovered it has to be disclosed to the next buyer. So the burden is on the seller.

No one buying a home wants to pay out several more thousand dollars on a sewer repair. However, this does happens to those who don't have the foresight to have the sewer pipes inspected.

Most reputable companies charge from $150 to $200 for this service. It is a small price to pay for your piece of mind. Keep in mind, there are some companies that provide this service for around $100. Some of them report defects that may not exist because they also do the repairs or work with a company that does the repairs which in turn gives referral rewards. This is an incentive to "find" defects.

Because HomeFront Inspection now offers Sewer video scope service to their many other valuable services, HomeFront can provide this service at a greatly reduced price provide it is asked for in conjunction with a home inspection.

HomeFront Inspection does not offer to make repairs as some low priced sewer scope companies do. This would be a conflict of interest. So you can have peace of mind that HomeFront will give you an honest evaluation of the sewer scopes as they do will all their services. This is what makes HomeFront Inspection a trust worthy name in the industry.

With our sewer video inspection service, you will get a DVD of "Your" sewer pipes, not someone else's. The DVD will show you exactly what we saw.

If there is damage, the DVD will note how far from the house the damage is. For an additional fee, they can mark the location above ground exactly where the problem lies.

Call today and schedule your home inspection and remember to request a Sewer Video inspection to your request.
