| Thank you for checking the Trouble
Shooters network. I know there were several inspectors to choose from.
It is an honor to have you here.
| Please call 303-777-8025 to schedule your home inspection. |
Finding the right inspector for you doesn't have to be a shot in the dark. Here's some qualifications
that should shed light on the matter so you can feel confident in choosing HomeFront
Inspection, a trusted name in the inspection industry. Here's what separates me from
some of the other inspectors.
Certified:
 | As a certified member of the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors
(InterNACHI) To maintain this status, I am required to take a minimum of 24 hours of
continuing education . I am required to follow their strict Code of Ethics and Standards
of Practice. There are other association for home inspectors but InterNachi is the only
association that requires their members to be pre-certified before they can become a
member. |
Experienced:
 | I have been an inspector for 6 years, Former President of the Colorado Chapter of the
National Association of Certified Home Inspectors (NACHI). During my term as president I
focused on educating the inspectors. I have helped several inspectors with their business
as well as marketing tips. I have a background in architecture and building trades. |
Independent:
 | This means I don't solicit realtors to refer me to their clients. I work solely
for my client to give you an objective, unbiased inspection of the house. I don't try to
sell the house I just give you the information I gather from the house.
Some inspectors will hide defects in hopes to impress the real-estate agent so they will
use him again. I, on the other hand, only try to impress my client with a professional
inspection and the best rated reporting program that clearly explains the defects.
|
Thermography:
 | I'm one of only a handful of inspectors that have invested into Thermal Imaging. This
optional service of Thermal Imaging Photography has been a great asset to
my business. It allows me to see what no other inspector can see without this
Infrared camera. It's almost like having X-ray vision. If you want the
most advanced home inspection available you need to request Thermal Imaging with your
inspection. |
Reporting Style:
 | I use a software program that systematically walks me through the inspection process. My
reports are a combination of a check list and narrative. The narrative part explains the
defects along with the recommended course of action. Pictures accompany the defects for a
better understanding of the problem. See my Sample Report. The reports are
delivered online in html format. There you can save, print or foreword to others. |
 | Other inspection companies use a popular check list that rates each area inspected as
"Satisfactory or Functional" - "Fair" or "Poor". This type
of report leaves much to your imagination or interpretation of the item's condition. i.e.
A furnace can be "Functional" but in very "Poor" condition. You may
wonder if it needs to be serviced or replaced? |
Pricing
 | My prices are structured according to multiple factors. Therefore, I don't have a flat
fee. I tailor each inspection according to the job and your needs and concerns. I offer
other services like Radon testing, Mold Survey and Thermal Imaging. |
 | There is a big difference in what inspectors charge. An inspector that charges $150.00
does not do the same inspection that a $300.00 inspection would do. Some cheap inspections
are a result of new inspectors trying to get their business started. Others charge
little because they don't thoroughly inspect the house. Another reason is the inspector
lacks the knowledge and confidence it requires to inspect homes. So you see, You really do
get what you pay for. |
Price Comparisons:
 | Think about this. You pay $350.00 for the appraisal which tells you very little about
the house. Yet some people complain about a price less than that for a home inspection
that will tell you much about the house. Most buying decisions are based on the home
inspection results. How important is that? Here's another example. A mechanic charges
$150.00 to check over a car that is worth 1/10th of the cost of a home. So then a
home inspection should be worth around $1500.00 right? |
 | Why try and save a few dollars on a home inspection when an inspection is the
most important part of the home buying process? |
Other Services available:
Radon Testing:
 | Radon is the leading cause of lung cancer second only to smoking.
High levels of radon can increase your risk of lung cancer.
The device needs to be left at the house for a minimum of 48 hours to determine the radon
levels of that house. Cost $125.00 with a home inspection. |
Thermal Imaging:
 | Infrared is a powerful, noninvasive method of monitoring and
diagnosing the condition of houses. With it, home inspectors can
quickly identify problem areas that can't be detected with the
naked eye - eliminating costly, destructive probing methods.
Infrared thermography cameras produce images of invisible
infrared, or "heat" radiation and provide you with precise
non-contact temperature measurements.
Invaluable for moisture problems and mold problems!
Moisture in building materials can destroy the structural
integrity and nurture mold and insect infestation. Infrared
cameras can instantly image entire rooms, inspect hard-to-reach
places, reveal wet conditions behind surfaces at the source, and
then monitor when the area is completely dry.
What can infrared cameras do for you?
Infrared cameras meet the demands of building diagnostics. They
feature immediate high-resolution thermal imagery, which reveals
potential structural and moisture issues, energy efficiency and
even rodents or pests. Use an infrared camera to find:
a.. Moisture
b.. Missing or defective insulation
c.. Structural shortcomings
d.. HVAC problem areas
e.. Source of heating/cooling losses
f.. Plumbing blockages
g.. Roof leaks
h.. Electrical issues
i.. Rodents and other pests
j.. And much more!
Because a home inspection is a visual/non invasive survey of a building, many of these
problems can go undetected without the use of Infrared technology.
Infrared - Thermal Imaging: |
Cost $75.00 and up extra with a home inspection.
Winterized Home Plumbing Test:
Most banks are charging up to $350.00 to de-winterize the house. I can save
you money with an air pressure test.
Cost $75.00 and up.
Mold Testing:
I can inspect and test for mold, but first read below
I hope to hear back from you, but if I don't, I hope you have a wonderful experience
with the inspection of your new home.

We (Jeff and Elizabeth, re: 28380 E. 162 CT) took your advice and had
the septic line video scoped. Turns out the previous owner's "water feature" (10
tons of rock) crushed the septic line. Estimate $7000 to repair.
I feel I got more than my money's worth with your inspection!! |
Phil is the BEST Inspector around. He
inspected a house for us and found some "deal breaking" issues- like enough mold
to call in the EPA- We would never have been able to see it. It was the best
money we have ever spent. We then hired him again to inspect the home we hope to
raise our two boys in safely. We will be hiring him again soon for the inspection of my
mom's house and another friend's house. Thank you so much Phil!

Phil is the BEST inspector in Denver metro. We wish we could
give him more then 5 stars!!!! Great communication, put up with all of our questions. Took
pictures with his digital camera, loaded them onto his tablet PC, had a report finished,
printed and emailed at the end of the inspection. Great pricing, great guy, great company.
Needless to say, we have no worries about this home. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!!
A++++++++++++++ HIRE THIS INSPECTOR!!!!!!!

I would recommend Phil Gage (HomeFront
Inspection) to anyone looking for professional home inspection services. He has been very
thorough with his inspections and helped my clients feel confident about any concerns they
may have in purchasing a home. I work with several investors who want to make sure
that there are not any hidden problems that might cost them after the purchase of the
investment property. We were able to cancel a contract that would have put my investor
client in a bad situation. Thanks to HomeFront Inspections we caught the problem and I
gained my investors confidence and he is now purchasing several properties.
Mike Mc Connell - Realtor |
Thank you for taking the time to do such a thorough
inspection of my potential first home! I greatly appreciated your professionalism and
attention to detail. I would recommend Phil and HomeFront Inspection to any home buyer;
especially those concerned with receiving the best deal for their dollar. Thank You

I contacted Mr. Gage very late on a Monday
evening while I was on travel in Oregon and asked if he could inspect a home I was
considering purchasing. Mr. Gage went way beyond what I expected by agreeing to conduct
the inspection the next day. His report was exemplary and was helpful in my being able to
get the home owner to perform some work prior to my purchasing the property. Thank you Mr.
Gage

I was glad I hired Phil to inspect the house before I bought
it. He found problems that would have cost us a bundle of money had we decided to buy it.
I had Phil inspect another house. This one I bought.
C. Acosta - Denver |
Phil was excellent. The home is very old so
he took extra time to be extremely thorough. He went into attic, crawl spaces, etc just to
make sure there weren't any surprises later on. I would recommend him to others.
