FHA Inspection

The New FHA Mortgage Program

What is an FHA inspection?

Don’t make the mistake of hiring a

home inspector that isn’t FHA Certified.

If you are purchasing your home with a FHA mortgage you need to be certain that the home inspector you hire is a Certified FHA inspector.

Many home buyers don’t realize that a regular home inspection is not what you need. Most home inspectors are not properly trained and FHA Certified to inspect for FHA. Many will say they are but they are not listed on the HUD roster (use ID # D1051). You need to use a FHA Certified inspector sho knows what FHA is going to require to be repaired in order to qualify for the mortgage.

The requirements that FHA have are different than that of a regular home inspection. If you should use a home inspector that isn’t FHA Certified to inspect your new home the information will be of little or no use to obtain your mortgage. The information from general home inspection is only valuable to you. If a general inspection report is presented to the lender for underwriting it could complicate and gridlock the process because the lender doesn’t know how to interpret a regular inspection report for an FHA mortgage.

Using a FHA certified inspector is a benefit to you because we can assist you in the 203k process. As your consultant, we can orchestrate the renovation process with the contractors, inspect their work and handle all the paperwork FHA requires. FHA requires Certified Consultant if you are doing a full 203k mortgage.
